David Burg for Congress Statement (Howell, New Jersey) SUNDAY, MARCH 20, 2022 — David Burg, Republican Candidate for Congress in New Jersey’s 4th District, issued the following statement about Ukraine: Putin’s diabolical invasion of his sovereign neighbor Ukraine is the foreseeable result not only of his own megalomania but, more importantly, his correct assessment of our current Commander-in-Chief as weak, feckless, foolish, and ill-motivated.
Putin knew Biden would respond to his months-long military build-up and eventual attack with sustained confusion and hesitancy, driven entirely by domestic leftwing politics. Not surprisingly, therefore, Putin saw this as the opportune moment to unleash his delusions of grandeur.
And, as undoubtedly predicted, Biden’s response has been bumbling, incoherent, and moronic.
To say the least Joe Biden is no Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
In fact, following the disastrous Afghanistan debacle — the worst surrender in American history — Biden’s decades-long record of unwise foreign policy judgments (as observed by Robert Gates long ago) remains unblemished. And his inept Vice-President, who apparently was selected as insurance against impeachment, is an appalling embarrassment to our beloved country.
Tragically it’s not clear what best to do in the face of this unspeakably nightmare when there’s no reason to place an iota of trust in our current President and Vice-President to manage a potentially escalating war were the West to stop Putin, as it should.
Indeed doing the morally correct thing could have extremely dangerous consequences, and the very last two people we’d want handling such a crisis would be doing exactly that.
So, to avoid Joe Biden and Kamala Harris driving our country — and the entire world — off a cliff, we might have to sue for peace on the best possible terms.
Meanwhile we should supply the brave and admirable Ukrainians with all possible weaponry. And pray.
